NYDC lunch

 Went to NYDC to have a birthday lunch with my friend.
ordered the '3 Amigos' which was $12.80 and included soup and a drink.














The mushroom soup was kind of small but tasted great!

my main dish was made up of 3 types of meat and rice at the bottom.


overall, 7/10. although the meal was a little pricey, i would go back again if there was another promotion:)

Hot Tomato lunch

Went to Hot Tomato at the Star Vista on 14 Sept, as there was a promotion. (forgot what the price was)
I got the steak with pasta, tomato soup and ice lemon tea. the tomato soup was watery and slightly sour but still had enough 'liao'(ingredients) inside. the steak, although i ordered medium well and was red, was still hard to cut and a bit tough. overall 7/10 but won't go back again.

its only a week of smoke so we should not complain? people are falling SICK from the haze, (like my mom and friend) of course we should push Indonesia to start taking action before someone dies right??

also, its the June holidays, do they expect all the children in Singapore to stay at home? they are children, they need to move around as they are energetic. people also need to work to earn a living.

lets just hope the Indonesian government REALISES the severity of the situation and starts ACTING accordingly.

Bintan Agro Beach Resort experience

This is my 2nd time staying at this resort, the first was like in 2007... 0.0 (can't really remember much from the first time though)

Me, my mom, my sis and my grandma (maternal) took a ferry (WaveMaster) from Tanah Merah ferry terminal to Bintan. the seats in the ferry was spacious enough and was quite comfortable :)

the lobby has NO air-condition so it gets pretty hot during the day. it is also one of the only places in the resort where there is free wifi. (the other is at the restaurant by the pool) if you do want to use wifi in the rooms, you have to pay:(







        

there are TWO swimming pools in the resort. the one right next to the lobby is very small and dirty. i think they don't bother cleaning it since no one uses that pool. the other is behind Asiana Beach Bistro (looking out into the ocean) and is much bigger. 
Asiana Beach Bistro is also the only restaurant in the resort   that serves breakfast buffet.

we were supposed to get the junior suite, but since it wasn't ready yet, the receptionist gave us a choice of having the family room(which i had stayed in in 2007). in the end we got the Blue Ocean suite which was actually out in the ocean :)

remember to take note of the low tide and high tide timings so that you can plan your trip properly since most activities there are water sports.

they have a mini 'zoo' in the resort, which consists of rabbits, a monkey, a squirrel, several birds (which includes a mynah that is commonly seen in Singapore, poor thing) and a rooster that is not caged up.

we had dinner on both days at the Sun Moon Restaurant. really liked the food there!

i actually WOULD NOT recommend coming to this resort as the water activities are really expensive and depends mostly on the tides. the food and rooms are quite nice.

if you like to just swim and enjoy the beach then you might want to try this resort? however, if you are not willing to spend a lot of money on the water sports but still want to do other activities other than swimming, you should look for another resort.

Manhattan Fish Market dinner

Decided to try the food at Manhattan Fish Market with Angela since we had vouchers for some of their sets. We went to the MFM at The Star Vista. Probably had to stand in line for about 20+ minutes since i think there were more customers because they all also received vouchers like us.

Both of us had to wait another 20 mins for our food to arrive.

Overall, i think the food was nice. maybe 7.5/10 :)
